I spent the afternoon wandering around the city of Bayeux. What a wonderful city steeped in history. There has been a settlement here of some sort since the Roman Empire. Some of the buildings dating back to around the year 900 . A totally memorizing city and experience. The city was the first city liberated in 1944. June 14 1944 Charles de Gaulle walked up the main Street and made a speech in the square.
Tomorrow it is off to visit museums and Britannique Military Cemetery. Saturday I am on a full day tour of the Canadian Sector.
