Friday was the first day that we visited the build site. We were greeted by a crowd of cheering children and community members. We are the first build team to take part in this community. After the greeting we went to one of the ‘classrooms’ for a welcoming and pinata time. The children and team members took turns at the pinata. I was the one to finally break it, as I did I was almost stampeded by the children as they raced to get the candy. We then went over for an introduction to the build site and the workers there. The first day was spent filling buckets to make concrete, carting concrete for the footings and helping with the placement of the rebar. The day at the worksite ended in a soccer game with the children of the community. Very fun!
Overall a very rewarding experience.
Day One

Great pics. I always wondered what one of these sites looked like. Thanks for sharing!
Keep the pics coming, Jason. What is the temp as you were working and then the soccer game? Looks like full-sun. Careful!
It is mostly full sun, I have been wearing sunscreen, hat, drinking a lot of water and resting when I need to. I would guess mid 30’s.
